A live video debate game for three people. Two larpers get the same random topic and take turns arguing for it on camera. The third player, the judge, picks who argued it better. A Quick round takes under two minutes.

Because you rarely believe what you're arguing. You get handed a topic like "robot vacuums" or "filler arcs" and have to defend it with a straight face. Larper is the in-game name for the two debaters.

No. You can play ranked matches as a guest. If you sign in with Google within 7 days, the ELO you earned as a guest is moved to your account. Only signed-in players appear on the leaderboards.

There are seven pools: Music, Gaming, Science, Movies & TV, Tech, Sports, and Anime. Each pool has 10 to 20 topics, from "Frank Ocean" and "cassette players" in Music to "the offside rule" in Sports. Sponsored topics, when there are any, are labeled Sponsored on screen.

Before each round the three players vote on Quick (20-second turns) or Long (60-second turns). Each larper gets two turns, then the judge has 30 seconds. That's 1 minute 50 seconds for Quick and 4 minutes 30 seconds for Long.

Only the player whose turn it is has a live mic. It stops rounds turning into two people talking over each other, and it means the judge hears every turn in full.

Everyone starts at 100. Win and you gain ELO, lose and you drop some. The amount depends on the gap between you and your opponent: an upset is worth more than a win you were expected to get. Your first 20 ranked games move faster so your rating settles quickly. Ties change nothing. The full table with examples is in How to Play.

Judges don't have an ELO. The judge leaderboard counts rulings: every round you judge to a decision (a win for one larper, not a tie) adds one. There's a Today board and a This week board. Both reset on their own, so a new judge can top them the same day.

Every evening from 8 to 9 pm, in your own time zone, a win pays triple ELO and each judge ruling counts three times. The loser loses the normal amount. It's based on when the round started, so a round that begins at 8:59 still counts.

If the other larper leaves, you win. If the judge leaves during their 30-second ruling, or never picks, it's a tie. If someone leaves before the round starts, or the video never connects, the round is voided and doesn't count.

No. Video and audio go directly between the players' browsers over WebRTC. When a direct connection isn't possible they pass through an encrypted relay, which doesn't store them. The one exception is a safety check that runs in your browser: if it blurs a rule-breaking frame, that single still image can be sent to a moderator.

Yes. Public ranked matches show up in the live rail on the home screen, and anyone can watch them. Private rooms are never listed there.

Yes. Create a private room, share the code, and your friends join. Private rooms are unranked, so nothing you do there affects ELO or the leaderboards.

Yes, in the mobile browser. You don't need to install an app. It's built portrait-first, so it works best held upright.

Yes. There's nothing to buy. The site is paid for by ads on the guide pages (never on the live video screens) and by sponsored topics.

Yes. Larpmegle is for adults only. You're live on camera with people you haven't met, so it isn't suitable for anyone under 18.

Use the report button during the match. Every report goes to a moderator. Depending on what happened, the player can be warned, suspended or banned, and bans can apply to their account, guest session and device.
