Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 14, 2026

Larpmegle is a live, 18+ video debate game. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and your choices. Plain version: your live video and audio are peer-to-peer and are never recorded or stored on our servers.

1. Adults only (18+)

Larpmegle is strictly for adults 18 and over. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the service, contact us and we will remove their data.

2. Information we collect

  • Account info (if you sign in): your email address, and — if you use Google sign-in — your Google account ID and basic profile (such as name). Plus any display name (“handle”) you choose.
  • Guest play: a random session ID and a random device ID stored in your browser. These contain no name or email; they let you play as a guest, claim a rating later, and help us prevent abuse.
  • Gameplay data: the matches you join, your role and category/topic, connection-quality information, outcomes, and your ELO / rating history. For judges we store only the length of your notes — the notes themselves stay on your device.
  • Safety data: reports you file or that name you, automated content flags, and moderation actions or bans (which may be linked to your account, guest session, or device ID).
  • Technical data: IP address, device identifiers, and basic logs, used to operate real-time connections, secure the service, and prevent abuse.

3. Your video and audio

Live audio and video are sent peer-to-peer (directly between players using WebRTC). We do not record, watch, or store your stream. Setting up a call uses signaling servers to exchange connection details, and when a direct connection is not possible, your encrypted media may be relayed through a TURN server — but it is never stored there.

One exception: to keep the platform safe, an automated check runs in your browser on incoming video and blurs likely explicit content. If it is triggered, a single still frame may be uploaded for human moderator review. We do not capture continuous video.

4. Local storage on your device

We use your browser’s local storage (not advertising cookies) to keep you signed in, remember that you confirmed you are 18+, store your sound preference, hold your guest and device IDs, and keep judge notes on your device. You can clear this any time in your browser settings.

5. How we use your information

  • Run the game, matchmaking, ranking, and your ELO.
  • Keep you signed in and let you claim guest ratings.
  • Keep the platform safe: moderation, reports, content flags, and abuse prevention.
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the service.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with providers that run the app for us:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and real-time signaling.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting/CDN and TURN media relay.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

7. Sponsored content

Some in-game topics or categories may be provided or sponsored by third parties and may be labeled as “Sponsored.” Sponsors do not receive your personal information. At most we may share aggregate, non-identifying statistics (for example, how many rounds used a given topic). See our Terms for more.

8. How long we keep it

  • Account data: while your account exists.
  • Guest sessions and device IDs: short-lived and expire automatically.
  • Claimable guest ratings: expire after about 7 days if not claimed.
  • Moderation flags, snapshots, and ban records: kept as long as needed for safety and to enforce our rules.

9. Your choices and rights

You can sign out, change your handle, or stop playing as a guest by clearing your browser storage. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the use of your personal data. To make a request — including account deletion — email support@larpmegle.com.

10. Security & international transfers

We use reasonable measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may also be announced in the app.
